Gone by are those days when you needed to be glued to one particular spot or had to carry the music device around with you if you wanted to hear your favorite music. Now you're music playing device can be in one place and your speakers far away right beside you. And in a radius of 30 feet without using any wires, you can connect one thing to the other and enjoy your music. The new technology brings about this possibility. Pioneer introduced a hybrid navigation-cum iPod compatible entertainment system at CES. The AVIC-F500BT is designed to integrate with "virtually any factory audio system", the company said. Maybe. What the system does claim to do is add advanced voice technology for controlling iPods and Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. The AVIC-F500BT can operate as both a navigation device and as a media centre, connected to an existing audio system via a line-in jack, the solution becomes a gateway for personal audio and communication devices. Built-in speakers and a rechargeable battery are also provided for use of the system while on the go.

While most of the US is just getting their first glimpse of the Neonode N2, we've got the Neonode N2.5 for you dear readers. We were assured that this engineering prototype features a heftier battery to offset complaints raised by N2 owners. The other complaint -- lack of 3G data -- is also solved. It will also feature A2DP-enabled Bluetooth 2.1 (yes, 2.1) when its ships (no time specified) and a big fat 3G radio of unspecified type. Thing is, this time, the N2.5 is specifically targeted at the US market with Neonde already starting to sort through the carrier quagmire in order to bring it to market. WiFi? Maybe, that all depends upon the carrier's demands. Other than those changes, it features the same UI and touch screen technology of the tiny N2 which is fine by us. The only question now is how consumers react to it's new chubby profile.
It is a nice kit, though we question if this really is every woman's must-have handbag accessory. The Sony Ericsson HBH-PV712's pack-ins include two interchangeable style-up covers, a unique lanyard as necklace, handsome travel bag, and a charger. The set itself features 15 hour talk time, 500 hours of standby time, weighs 14 grams, and DSP with fast automatic volume adjustment. Here's hoping they release a Man's man version with an NHL Hockey motif, packed in a semi-ruined mini gym bag -- including all the required dirt and stains -- and scented with the finest meat and potatoes.
